Create an Award

‘As a young business starting out, the NADFAS/Cockpit Arts’ award has given me a tremendous boost and a wonderful studio space in the heart of London.’
Tamasyn Gambell, textile designer

We want to ensure that the most talented designer-makers are getting the opportunity to benefit from Cockpit Arts’ creative-business incubators. We work with a number of Award sponsors to support designer-makers who cannot afford the full fees including: NADFAS (The National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts Societies) and The Radcliffe Trust.

The full cost of supporting a designer-maker at Cockpit Arts is £5,000 a year, which pays for a studio space and access to all of our incubator services and promotional opportunities.

Cockpit Arts Investors can elect to sponsor or subsidise an Award and in doing so make a vital contribution to the start up or development costs of a designer-maker’s business. Please contact Vanessa Swann, Chief Executive directly by email or on 020 7419 1962 if you are interested in discussing a named Award or contributing to a pool of funds enabling more designer-makers to benefit from Cockpit Arts awards bursaries or other support initiatives.

Benefits include:

  • Publicity though a named Award.
  • Association with the UK’s most creative talent as well as promotion of specific crafts or issues relevant to your organisation.
  • Access to the Award Recipient’s studio for individual or group visits/talks by prior arrangement.
  • Regular reports from the Award Recipient on his/her progress including business development, PR and/or branding opportunities.
  • Acknowledgement on associated Cockpit Arts printed material and website (with logo); press release announcing the Award winner; branded signage over the studio occupied by the Award Winner.
