Summer 2010
Visitors streamed into our Summer Open Studios to meet, mingle and shop. A sanctuary from the World Cup, the event was bursting with new designs and creative activity. We showcased 'Bloom' products – inspired by Southbank Centre. Kids had fun helping Re-silicone create a stunning rug from rubber off cuts and adults got creative at Flash Workshops by Katherine Pogson, Judy Bentinck and Teri Howes. Christmas 2009
Shoppers were out in full force supporting talented independent designer-makers at our Christmas Open Studios. A record breaking 5,617 visitors enjoyed discovering exciting new pieces to buy direct from designer-makers. Liberty selected the pick of the Christmas gifts for a special showcase and kids flapped their creative wings making birds with Abigail Brown. See the Holborn and Deptford photos on Flickr.
Summer 2009
These special Open Studios saw the launch of our Maker Difference campaign celebrating beautifully made work by UK designer-makers. The event was jam-packed with special attractions including collector's tours, trails, film screenings, Makers Makes and more. Visitors enjoyed shopping, meeting designer-makers and having a go at knitting mice, throwing pots and other activities. See the event photos on Flickr.
Christmas 2008
Our Open Studios in December were a huge hit with Christmas shoppers. Visitors mingled with makers, played our lucky dip and shopped until they dropped. One lucky winner snapped up the Cockpit Christmas Tree decorated with bespoke ornaments by Cockpit makers.
London Design Festival 2008
We were a major highlight of the London Design Festival in September.
Guests enjoyed a weekend of creative adventure – with added extras such as showcases, interactive installations and mask making.
Summer 2008
Our sunny Summer Open Studios were brimming with the latest in jewellery design, interior products and fashion accessories. Guests were wowed with live demonstrations and special celebrations for Coutts London Jewellery Week.
