Unlike a conventional clock, the ACW tells the time at the 12 o'clock point (or the north point of the compass). Instead of following the hands, the time is read at the same point on the clock. Other contrary features are that the numbers/hours move round in an anti-clockwise direction and stand proud from the surface of the clock giving it a sculptural appearance.
