Using age-old craft techniques such as knitting and crochet gives me enormous comfort in today's high-tech world. Each tiny stitch is a rebellion against today's world of instant everything.
The use of pure silver and 18ct gold wire as 'thread' enables me to replicate the fluid movement of thread and fabric whilst incorporating the precious metals and opulence of conventional jewellery.
Inspiration comes mostly from my mothers' sewing tin - full of buttons, thread, lace trimmings and ribbons - they speak to me of potential, of what they might become.
