Chair of Trustees
Cockpit Arts, the award-winning social enterprise and creative business incubator for designer-makers, is seeking a new Chair of Trustees to help take Cockpit to the next stage of development.
We are a small but rapidly-growing and influential organisation that punches above its weight. At any one time we house up to 165 creative businesses in our two London incubators, producing unique works in craft and design and batch items for manufacture. In the past seven years the organisation has doubled in size and there is high demand for our services. On average our client businesses’ profits have increased by 25% above the rate of inflation every year since 2005. We also work with hundreds more creative businesses through our workshop and seminar programme, and offer a unique entry route to a craft career for young unemployed through our Creative Careers Programme, in partnership with The Prince’s Trust.
